General Information

  • Here is some general information about our courses. Information is subject to change for each course. An email with all the information will be sent to participants at least two weeks before every course.

Cost:

Early bird Registration is $40 per a youth, after that the cost is $50. Cost includes food, cabins and the program. Offer of Service is $20 per person. Checks made out to “Northern Lights Council” can be sent to:

Payment must be received before registration is considered complete. Refunds will be given to cancellations made 2 or more weeks prior to the event.

Drop off and pick up:

Most course are held from Friday evening to Sunday morning. Drop off is generally from 7:30pm-8:30pm on the Friday evening and pick up is generally from 11:30am-12:30am on the Sunday. Parents are responsible for arranging the transportation of their child to and from camp.

 

The training team:

The course is run by youth for youth. The training team consist of Venturers and Rovers with support from Scouters . If you are interested in being a part of the training team contact Morgan McKinney- morgan.mckinney@scouts.ca

 

Packing list:

youth will be sleeping in heated cabins but they will spend the majority of the day outside. Dress for the weather!

  • mess kit (bowl, plate, cup, cutlery)
  • sleeping bag
  • air mattress
  • pillow
  • uniform and necker
  • 2 changes of cloths (at least)
  • water bottle
  • rain jacket/winter jacket
  • rain pants/snow pants
  • warm clothes
  • rain boots/winter boots
  • toothbrush, tooth paste
  • campfire blanket *optional
  • PJs
  • teddy bear (optional)

What not to bring

  • video games or electronics (you won’t have time and they could get wrecked)

Forms

Each youth will need a emergency contact/medical  form. Forms will be returned after the camp.

Option 1: hard copy of their registration form

Option 2: print one from myscouts. Next to the person’s name there should be a green circle and an orange circle. Click the orange circle and a window will pop up with a filled out form. Click print at the top of the form.

      The next FOCUS course is May 8-10 a t camp Poole. The registration is now posted. Click on the venturer tab and then the link on this webpage. Let me know if you have any questions. I hope the vents are able to make it to this course. If they are not let me know so that we can figure out how to get them the training before PJ

    • Hi rick click on the Tab at the top for the course you want to register in so flex, fast or focus. There will be a link there to eventbrite where you can register people.
